How to check the version of Ubuntu you are using

This one is quite complex and difficult. From the terminal, enter the following command:

lsb_release -a

Information returned to you:

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Release: 12.04
Codename: precise

Now breathe again.
